Welcome to North Carolina, one day it's 85 with the Tornadoes and the next day it's in the 20s and snowing (mountains). The Coldest air of the season arrives tonight, the first Freeze and Frost warnings have been issued for many.
Call it the transition from Summer to Winter a chill is now in the air, the coldest morning since winter is expected Saturday AM. Clear skies and little winds with great radiational cooling lows are expected to fall into the 30s and 20s (Mountains-Central NC) with upper 30s and lows (Eastern- Coastal NC) low humidity will make it feel like winter.
Freeze and Frost Warnings: The National Weather Service has issued a Frost Advisory for all areas east of the mountains to the I95 in Eastern NC. A Freeze is expected in the mountains (the growing season has ended) Another Freeze Warning is in effect for the Triad and areas south and east away from Raleigh normally colder areas. Here's a look at low temperatures tonight into Saturday morning.
Highs this weekend will be in the 50s and 60s statewide, the cooler is staying around!
Frost and Freezes will kill sensitive outdoor vegetation if left uncovered.
