Forecast Monday, June 17th

A new week ahead with similar weather expected. Happy Monday, North Carolina! As I look through the morning observations across the state, it is another quiet and dry morning. A strong anticyclone is centered over North Carolina with a surface ridge that is feeding drier and a little less humid air to the parts of Central and Eastern parts of the state. Partly to mostly sunny skies are expected; there is a little lift that'll support a shower or thunderstorm mainly across higher elevation areas west of Raleigh and potentially an isolated storm along the sea breeze or shower; most areas will be dry once again today. We're getting to that period that we need rain as the growing period and limited rainfall is a bad combination. Highs today will be pretty much the same as yesterday in the 80s to low 90s for most areas, 70s in the mountains and along the Outer Banks.
