Forecast September 6th Tuesday: A cloudy day ahead for many with a few passing showers/storms

A new day is ahead, and the weather is still going strong. Happy Tuesday, North Carolina! I expect partly to mostly cloudy skies with increasing clouds; some areas will be overcast today. A trough will be moving through, and this will lead to a few scattered showers and thunderstorms. Not everyone will see rain today. In fact, many will stay dry. Highs will be in the mid to upper 80s for most, with some areas around 90-91° across Central and Eastern NC; changes in the weather are not expected this week.
