Hot day ahead today; summer definitely has roared in. Happy Wednesday, North Carolina! Highs will soar towards the century mark across the state; I expect partly to mostly sunny skies. You can expect highs in the mid and upper-90s statewide, cooler along the coast, and in the mountains. Humidity levels are still not overly high today, so no insane heat index values today. A line of showers and thunderstorms appears it will drop south today and bring some storms this evening into the overnight hours, I'll have more on that later.
