Forecast Wednesday Oct 16th: Coldest temps in months

We're looking at one of the coldest days in months across the state since last spring for many. It's a new day across the state; we will see warmer temps by the weekend. Happy Wednesday, North Carolina! Temperatures are in the 30s and 40s right now we will see some warming through the day, but highs will be limited to the 50s to near 60° for most, with 40s across the highest elevations of the mountains. We have a few scattered showers around the state right now; those will gradually shift to mainly Eastern and then Outer Banks parts of the state through early afternoon. I think most of the remaining rain chances will be along the Outer Banks this afternoon, with only an isolated shower elsewhere across the state. Partly to mostly cloudy skies are expected. Warmer temps will return Friday into next week, with many areas back in the 70s and even some 80s.
