Widespread rain is expected today; this is much needed as most of the state is approaching drought conditions and some areas are in a drought. I expect mostly cloudy skies, with some clearing in the afternoon. Rain will be likely this morning and will end quickly from west to east through the late morning and afternoon hours; some rain could be heavy at times. Gusty winds are possible today; highs will be in the 60s for most areas. The cold front will pass through, and temps will crash by evening into the overnight hours. Lows in the 40s and 30s for most areas are expected 20s in the mountains.
